This workshop will focus on foundational straw hat making techniques. It is not recommended for those that do not have basic tools and hat making experience.

Straw hat making is different, and this course teaches what you need to know.
Live, virtual hat making specifically for straw hat bodies. This session will be held May 17th, from 1:00 PT - 3:30 PT. Approximately 2 days prior to the session date, the zoom link will be emailed to you. The recorded session will be emailed after the session has completed.

Q: Who can take this course?
A. This course is best suited for those with foundational knowledge of hat making and basic tools.
Q: After I sign up, how do I join the session?
A. The morning of the session, you will receive an email with the link to join the live virtual session via Zoom.
Q: How is this course set up?
A. It will be a one time, live virtual course. The session will last 2.5 hours. There will be a section to discuss different styles of straw hat bodies and a section for tutorial and demonstration. It is recommended that you take notes and ask questions during the session and practice on your own time. You will not be making live in this workshop.
Q: What if I can’t attend the live session?
A. No worries! It will be recorded and available for 3 months after the live session. This is not an on demand digital course, therefore it will only be offered prior to the live session and for those who signed up in advance. The recording of the session will be emailed to everyone after the session is over.
Q: What is NOT covered in this course?
A. This course does not cover conversations related to sourcing tools or materials (other than the section specific to straw hat body types), basic hat making, fit issues, decorating or embellishment, dyeing, textile science, accessory tools such as flanges & block styles, custom tools, or hat making as a business.
Q: How long will I have access to the workshop video?
A. Three months.

A. This course does not include any hat making support or guidance for tools & supplies ordering.
